Wickford Downs built a 60 bail Orbit platform to milk 900 cows.

To make the milking process faster and more efficient they added Waikato Milking Systems technology. The Waikato milking system features SmartPULS, Smart ECR’s and BailGates. SmartD-TECT was introduced a short time after to help milkers identify the early onset of mastitis. Connected to LIC’s Protrack Vantage by SmartLINK milking has been streamlined and automated to the extent that one person can milk the herd.
